Days out for kids

A great day out for kids, whatever the weather

We've all been there. "When can we go to the park mum?" The reply of, "When it stops raining" never goes down well, for we all know that this is Britain, and when it rains, whatever the season, there’s a good chance it will do so for days, even weeks.

So, when considering days out for kids it is useful to have some indoor alternatives in the locker, and let's be honest, there aren't really that many are there?

Indoor play centres are okay but not really for children of all ages. Not terribly relaxing for the parent either, particularly if you have little ones of different ages – you really need eyes in the back of your head.

Another option, then, is to sit down for a few hours, have a coffee, and watch (or join in with, even) your children paint away to their heart's content. Days out for kids can be expensive too, so at just £2.50 per person, it's a whole lot cheaper than a play centre - and less stressful!

One of the biggest selling points for parents who bring their children to Just Pottering About is that it helps to encourage their creativity. Putting our minds to some artistic use is becoming increasingly rare when trying to find days out for kids, so some good, traditional fun with paint brushes and stencils can prove really worthwhile. Who knows, you may have a budding artist on your hands.

Getting something to take away and keep also acts as a memento for the day. Something to remember us by, or how about something to remind you to come back?
