Pottery painting

Pottery painting – fun for all

"Pottery painting? That's just for kids isn't it?" Well, yes and no really.

Sure, it really gets the little ones' creative juices flowing and provides the perfect solution to finding something to do when forced indoors due to the great British weather; however there's a lot more to it than that.

It is a great day out for adults too. Pottery painting can be, and is, enjoyed by young and old. In fact, we often play host to retirement parties, hen parties, social and community groups and businesses looking for an interesting team-building exercise.

In fact, pottery painting is a therapeutic and social activity and once your masterpiece is returned you feel a real sense of achievement, and that you've put your free-time to good use. The fact that you also have something tangible – whether functional or decorative – in return for your efforts, makes it all the more worthwhile.

Pottery painting is particularly popular with hen parties as it's a fantastic way to fill an afternoon in between lunch and getting ready for a big night out. If set the challenge of creating something just for the bride and groom to mark their special day, then the creations will stand as great mementos to be enjoyed for years to come.

As an alternative to thrill-seeking team-building events such as paint balling or white-water rafting, pottery painting is a whole lot safer and less painful! It can easily slot in within a conference programme, be a way to find out more about new colleagues or just be a fun year-end exercise. Just try and be more creative than painting a mug for the office!

So whatever the occasion, why not give pottery painting a try? Even if you don't feel like bringing the kids…
